SPC #66 – Legacy

Today we talk about legacy, and legends of aviation. I recently found some old audio in the SPC archives from OSH 2011, and it brought me back, got me thinking about the legacy of some of the people we sometimes get to cross paths with. Some are important to the world and some are important more to us and a few others. In any case, I wanted to let you guys hear this audio, too. I hope you like it.

Bill Williams

Bill Williams is a CFI/CFII and podcaster based in Mesa, Arizona. He's also a papa, a geek, a diver, a sailor, and a motorcycle rider, but flying is the thread that ties us together here.

Bill started the Student Pilot Cast as a student pilot, bringing listeners into the cockpit (and, more frighteningly, into his head) to share the triumphs and the setbacks of learning the art and science of flight. Years and a few interruptions later, the student became the instructor, and the show grew up with him.

Today the Student Pilot Cast is built around one idea: Fly. Learn. Repeat. Every flight teaches you something, but only if you take the time to reflect on it. Through solo episodes and conversations with instructors, training leaders, and aviation innovators, many recorded on the grounds at Oshkosh, Bill helps student pilots, new pilots, and fellow CFIs get more out of every hour in the air.
